Futon seat and bed

The dominating item in the spec for this was the need for it to look like a double seat, when not in bed mode. This necessitated some unusual leg positions and hidden hinges, so that it transformed quickly and was completely stable as a double bed.  It was made to fit the widest mattress available and to allow more space for the slats to flex.  It has been in continuous daily use for the 12 years since it was built! The wood used was Douglas Fir with Red Pine slats.
