Octagonal Cedar Table
Family board games work better on an octagonal table, and you have more table for less space in a tight living room. As this one is solid cedar, the punishment it will receive from growing children can easily be sanded out when a flawless finish needs to be restored. The stable base and the top with only one join, both show the growth-rings of the tree; the thin, lean years contrasting with those of greater growth. Most of the 162 living years of the tree are seen on the table edges.
The central panel in the base has bark inclusions that the tree encapsulated as it grew. A brief history of the tree is etched beside it.
